Tellico Area’s Premier In-Home Decorating Service

Tellico Village is an unincorporated community in the southwest area of Knoxville. It is a planned community, in which the governmental functions are managed by the Tellico Village Property Owners Association. The community was established because of the actions of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), which decided to dam up the Little Tennessee River at its confluence with the Tennessee River. In 1979, the Tellico Dam was finally completed after a long battle, which involved the Endangered Species Act of 1973.

The community has three golf courses and a yacht and country club. The names of the golf courses, like the names of the streets and neighborhoods (each neighborhood within Tellico Village has its own name) are derived from American Indian words and names, mostly Cherokee. These include Toqua, meaning “fish,” and Tanasi, which was the name of a town that was the capital of the Cherokee Nation between 1721 and 1730. “Tanasi” is also the word from which the name “Tennessee” was derived.

Tellico Village Resources:

Tellico Village is known for its three championship golf courses with layout that wind around Tellico Lake and across hills with scenic mountain views. The golf courses have a classic design of tight fairways lined with trees and small greens that are fast and sloped. The three courses are named Tansi, Toqua and The Links at Kahite.

The Public Library at Tellico Village is located in rural Loudon County and is a part of the Ocoee River Regional Library System. As one of the five libraries in Loudon County, it is a full-service library that is open to all that live or work in the surrounding communities. There is no charge to receive a library card.

The Tellico Lake Rotary Club is committed to building relationships through fellowship and conducting business in an ethical manner, while spreading goodwill in the community. The club funds its own charitable projects in order to raise funds for several local charities to help people in need, primarily in Loudon and Monroe Counties. When you become a club member, you are connected to 1.2 million members of more than 34,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries.
