Nautical Inspired Bedroom

A washable, navy blue, basketweave design coverlet drapes the bed, with bold navy striped euro shams trimmed with rope cording. Opposing cable-knit shams with toggle button closures and a nautical rope tied decorative pillow bring the nautical feel to the room. Blue and white ceramic lamps with a hand-painted coral adorn the night stands.

Nautical Inspired Bedroom

The client wanted a guest room where her aging parents could relax and enjoy their time together. Her father was a nautical man and she wanted them to feel at home and know it was created especially for them!

The existing bed was a double bed, and the furniture in the room was very old and dated. She was not sure a queen size bed would fit in the room and she wanted her artwork which was special to her to hang in the room.

Beginning with a space plan, we made sure a queen size bed would fit in the room. From there, we began selecting finishes in a grey-wash. The room was somewhat limited in size, so we chose night stands that also could provide some storage. A tall dresser and coordinating mirror would provide additional storage for her guests.

Flanking opposing oars and the owner art work were hung behind the bed. The custom-made tri-pleat valance was made to coordinate with the euro shams on the bed in a vertical bold stripe.
