Bohemian Play Room

This client wanted to transform her bare, temporary office space into a place for her kids to be creative and play piano in. She needed lots of storage that would not impede too much into the small room. It was important to her that the kids have a way to be comfortable on the floor while reading and playing with toys. Most of all, she wanted it to truly reflect both her son and daughter well while still tying into the décor of the rest of the house.

The star of this whimsical playroom is the chalk board wallpaper covering the entire left wall. This provides beautiful contrast and pattern to this light and airy space as well as an outlet for creativity! The hobby chest gives easily-accessible, concealed storage for toys and books. A soft blue wool rug is layered with a plush faux-fur sheep to cushion the floor. Worldly floor poufs and pillows welcome a space for lounging and reading. Imaginative touches are placed through playful artwork and accessories, down to the little dog doorstop! Overall, colors are kept subdued to flow with the rest of the home and offer a room the kids can grow into.
