Located in Blount County, Louisville is a town with an estimated population of 2,439. Louisville is included in the Knoxville, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area. In the early 1800s, the Louisville area grew into a key flatboat and steamboat port because of its and its situation on the Tennessee River before later being incorporated in 1851.
