Concord is an unincorporated community located in west Knox County, east of Farragut and west of Knoxville. Concord is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district, the Concord Village Historic District. The Village of Concord began to develop in 1854, and continued to develop rapidly after the arrival of the railroad. Having both the existing river transportation and the railroad made Concord the nucleus of several communities on the north side of the river.

The Concord Yacht Club is a community of sailing enthusiasts of all ages committed to promoting and cultivating the sport of sailing and sailboat racing. The club hosts regattas and other sailing and social events for Knoxville, while also providing facilities, equipment and instruction so that everyone in the surrounding area can have the opportunity to learn and appreciate sailing.

The Concord Hills Recreation Club offers a variety of recreational facilities which include a 25-yard pool, two full-size tennis courts and a grassy volleyball court. The facility also provides playgrounds for both toddlers and older children.

The Rotary Club of Knoxville is the oldest and largest civic organization in the city with a long history of supporting education, community service and international service. The club has more than 200 members from diverse backgrounds who are devoted to the Rotary ideals of Service.
