Farragut is a suburban town located in both Knox and Loudon counties in Tennessee. With a population of 20,676, the town is included in the Knoxville Metropolitan Area. Farragut is named in honor of American Civil War Admiral David Farragut, who was born in 1801 at the east of the town at Campbell’s Station. The area was initially known as Campbell’s station after a fort and stage coach station was built by Captain David Campbell in 1787.
