Strawberry Plains in considered an unincorporated community located at the boundary between Jefferson, Knox and Seveir counties in Tennessee. Strawberry Plains is situated on the bank of Holston River, and is treated by the United States Census Bureau as a census county division. Strawberry Plains’ name is said to have originated from the wild strawberries that grew in abundance in the area when white settlers from North Carolina first arrived.

Jefforson County Historical Society – The Jefferson County Historical Society  (JCHS) is a non-profit corporation commited preserving, restorating, and safekeeping the county’s historical structures, documents, artifacts, and hertiage.  Established in 1978, the historical society was formed by local citizens to save the Jefferson County Courthouse from being destroyed and replaced by a modern building.
