Glamour Pink Bedroom

We were asked to participate in a Designer Show House for the Knoxville Symphony League. As participating designers, we donate a significant portion of our proceeds to the League (this was one of two guest bedrooms we were asked to design for the Show House that year). We designed this room from a blueprint drawing, as the home was in the beginning stage of construction during the design phase. We wanted the room to be a luxury bedroom that anyone would love to have.

Many that attended the show house commented how they would love to have this room! We started the design from the vibrant mix of colors in the luxurious wool rug. The focal point in the room — the raspberry velvet bed with silver nail-heads, included shimmering bed covers, a gold threaded coverlet, textured satin duvet, sequin laced and satin pillows (all bearing the names such as Bardot, Dunaway, and Marilyn). We custom hand-painted the metal art to match the exact color of the raspberry velvet bed, leaving the “leaves” silver to mimic the nail-heads on the bed. A crystal and silken champagne chandelier graced the ceiling. A custom chair with a barrel back and dark wood trim bring the vibrant mix of colors to the seating area with a travertine and metal accent table to complement the 3-drawer travertine and wood night chest. Floral arrangements, along with a reeded round mirror and travertine/metal/glass console with two caster cinch-waist ottomans all give a luxury finish to the design. A cluster of falling leaves softly cascades down are mimicked in the drapery. A window shade of soft pink to match the wall color softens and filters the sunlight. Two custom watercolor pieces of art painted by one of the designers offers personal touch to this feminine luxurious guest bedroom.
