Contemporary White Kitchen

Custom swivel counter stools and aged iron and milk glass globe pendants highlight the island in this newly renovated kitchen. A wood and metal round table with upholstered chairs, surrounded by a cream-colored rug are at the center of this eating area. The faux iron decorative design above each window and soft woven wood roman shades brought consistency to the entire design of this open-concept house plan. The clover shaped chandelier mimics the cylindrical patterns.

Contemporary White Kitchen

These clients recently moved to Tennessee from Houston, TX, after suffering a devastating flood to their home there. Transitioning to their new home, they began remodeling their kitchen and then were referred to us by the kitchen designer for the finishing touches of furniture, lighting, area rugs and window treatments. This began one of all the main rooms we did in the house. The dining area in the kitchen needed updated lighting, furniture and window treatments. They did not like their existing table and chairs, and asked us to update the lighting to match their new kitchen design. They wanted to be able to see their beautiful view of the lake while they dined at the table, but glare was a problem as well as the heavy faux-wood blinds on the window.

These clients received the basic cabinet, counter and backsplash design from a kitchen designer, who then referred her to us to design the other elements needed for a complete design. The lighting was a major update using milk-glass pendants that made a statement over the island and a clover-shaped chandelier over the breakfast table. Custom counter swivel stools highlight the island area. The custom round rug under the wood and metal breakfast table and upholstered chairs were a welcome change. Custom faux-iron topped each window in the transoms and the softness of a woven wood created a light-filtering drape to the room, but also allowed for easy lifting to enjoy the view of the lake. A custom water-look floral arrangement of coral vanda orchids crown the table. Art and runner rugs in the prep area completed the look.
