Lodge Family Room

This glamourous lodge look combines crisp cream leather sofa, with a rich navy floral with mustard and taupe, and is anchored with deep black furniture brightened with aged brass accents. Ample comfortable seating was requested, so the sofa features motorized reclination and the patterned chairs are secretly recliners too!

Project Overview:

The client had a small condo in the mountains that she wanted to have furnished for when she went hiking. She also would like to host friends there when they travelled. The condo was currently empty and a completely blank canvas. She wanted it to feel a little bit like a cabin or a lodge, but she did not want it to be kitschy or too rustic, as that’s not her personal taste, which is more glam. She did want it to feel inviting and like a private getaway. The rooms were small and needed to use every inch.

This glamourous lodge look combines crisp cream leather sofa, with a rich navy floral with mustard and taupe, and is anchored with deep black furniture brightened with aged brass accents. This family room was part of an open floorplan that included both the kitchen as well as the dining space, and laundry closet. Ample comfortable seating was requested, so the sofa features motorized reclination and the patterned chairs are secretly recliners too! Two macro images of tree bark give a contemporary close up of nature for an unexpected organic touch that matches the cool toned color palette. Accessories include the local wildlife with deer and owls, as well as botanical ferns, magnolias, and more. The homeowner loves the local Appalachian mountains and trails, and requested photography of some of her favorite locations which are framed and placed in a column behind the end table by the sofa. These tie in with many other prints throughout the condo. This family room also features a bar and wine cabinets that is in a industrial mid century style that perfectly fits in the small space beside the fireplace and the door to the primary suite. The timeless pair of pleated window treatments are fashioned from a linen fabric with a visually interesting texture that is casual yet elegant. These panels also feature a performance tape that has a fringed edge on both sides with a dark charcoal detail against the cream background.
