Project Overview:

This client had purchased this literal farmhouse, complete with the acreage and the horses, right before covid. He is a builder by trade, and the house was in desperate need of renovations. They had worked on the house before meeting with us, and sculpted it to their needs with new details and brought the whole house up to date inside and out. However, now that they were at the final stage, they were having trouble bringing it all together. Their previous home was red and gold, but now she wanted to go cool, and grey. They had purchased furniture for the new space, but it just wasn’t working. Their pieces were either too small or too large, and she was frustrated going from furniture store to furniture store to try and bring it all together. She wanted a home that felt cohesive from one room to the next, that felt luxurious with hints of farmhouse.

This farmhouse dining space visually increased in size with the selection of a properly scaled table, rug, and new chairs. The rustic catalyzed finish on the turned leg dining table and matching side chairs is easy care and perfect for daily use for this bustling family of four. The upholstery is a charcoal faux leather that is easily wipeable but looks rich. The dining space is enhanced with a pair of matching bobbin chairs in a large-scale gray buffalo check, and are perfect for morning coffee or afternoon tea. The stunning picture windows are enhanced by an embroidered pole mounted pickup that brings all five walls together for an intimate nook. This space is anchored as well with a rug, coffee table, and accent table that we repurposed from the homeowners’ furnishings. To bring style into the adjoining kitchen we selected two ornately framed art prints of the roaring waves of the ocean to bring out the blue color of the island and bar. The artwork tucks beautifully with the everyday dishes on display. Lastly, we have a cordless roman shade featuring a small scale wood block motif in grey and cream in the window above the sink. The whole space is brought together by the color palette of charcoal gray, cream, and blue for a cohesive space.
