Project Overview:

This client had purchased this literal farmhouse, complete with the acreage and the horses, right before covid. He is a builder by trade, and the house was in desperate need of renovations. They had worked on the house before meeting with us, and sculpted it to their needs with new details and brought the whole house up to date inside and out. However, now that they were at the final stage, they were having trouble bringing it all together. Their previous home was red and gold, but now she wanted to go cool, and grey. They had purchased furniture for the new space, but it just wasn’t working. Their pieces were either too small or too large, and she was frustrated going from furniture store to furniture store to try and bring it all together. She wanted a home that felt cohesive from one room to the next, that felt luxurious with hints of farmhouse.

This glamorous primary suite features charcoal gray, steel blue, silver, and white to bring the feeling of elegance and luxury to this farmhouse. The new bedding is the focal point utilizing mohair, velvet, Italian sheets, and delicate embroideries together. The same fabrics are repeated in the floor to ceiling pinch pleat drapery panels flanking each window and the custom roman shade that is mounted to the patio door. The wide 3″ embroidered decorative tape and use of the slate blue body fabric ties the two styles of window treatments together. On either side of the upholstered headboard, we used a pair of large scaled hand painted artwork featuring mountains in a soft blue and cream. We reused the home owner’s furniture for this space, including the two chairs that we repurposed from another room in their house. This adds an additional layer of coziness to this space. Accessories in a variety of silvers was added to bring the elegance around the room. The lone orchid on the accent table completes the seating arrangement and ties the negative space between the draperies in. Anchoring the space as a whole is a luxuriously soft viscose rug in solid steel blue utilizing a variety of textures.
