Luxurious Feminine Vanity

The client had a desire for a vanity closet using this unused closet in the bedroom. There was an additional closet, so it did not need to house clothing. She imagined a vanity to dress and put make-up on, as well as a place to display and hang all of her jewelry. Lighting would need to be added at the vanity level, as well as ambient lighting at the ceiling. The wall that would need to be reshaped, housed a return vent. New carpeting would need to be installed.

Beginning with the shape of the opening, we created a drawing that would open up the new vanity area with a wide arch. The return vent was moved to the left and allowed for this to happen. To create a special feeling to the vanity closet, a sparkling butterfly mural was placed on the facing wall behind the vanity. Sparkling silver grass cloth adorns the other walls. The vanity selected was a beautiful grey, taupe finish with a white and grey marble top. The vanity also had jewelry trays, usb ports, plugs for vanity appliances, as well as a sorting tray. In the same finish, an ogee-shaped mirror hung above the vanity. A custom-made swivel vanity stool was selected using a gold shagreen fabric that could easily be wiped if there were spills. Two bronze leaf sconces flank the mirror, and a gold and bronze cylindrical chandelier crowns the vanity closet. Various jewelry storage was hung on the wall and feminine artwork center the jewelry display wall. A lamb skin rug adds an extra layer of luxury to the vanity closet over the new carpeting.
