New Traditional Living Room

This returning client just moved into a larger home for her growing family. Moving from a much smaller home she had no furniture for her main living area. She wanted a classic and inviting space for adults, but not so formal that her children wouldn’t also feel comfortable within the space. She wanted carefree finishes and easy inviting colors.

New traditional styled pieces combined with a fresh and organic color palette of soft sage, aqua, cream, and rich brown give this living room an inviting character that will last for years to come. Performance fabrics were used on the sofa for easy care and versatility. Hand-carved details along the base of the sofa are continued throughout the occasional pieces in the room, along with marquetry work along the tops. The room shares two main focal points the sofa and the wall behind it filled with a large 18 piece collection of botanical prints, as well as the tall fireplace wall with flanking built-ins. Tall wing back chairs were utilized here to raise the eye as well as give additional seating for guests. The nearby foyer has an antique inspired double buffet in a soft blue grey with industrial inspired large blown glass lamps for a stunning first impact, with a local artist feature in between.
