Soft & Elegant Bedroom
Gray and white grass cloth wallpaper was used strategically on the walls and installed to meet the flat part of the ceiling, softening the angles of the wall. A soft, washable coverlet was used to top the bed, soft grey velvet euro shams, coordinating plaid bed scarf, and ogee shaped fabric shams harmonize with the custom drapery panels pulled the room from drab to fab!
This room was a collection of all things that the owner did not know what to do with. It needed to be converted to become a place where her guests could relax and enjoy their time visiting. The sharp angle of the ceiling meeting the shorter wall was also a challenge. Shutters on a window with an arch can be a challenge as well to address.
Grey and white grass cloth wallpaper was used strategically on the walls and installed to meet the flat part of the ceiling. This created the illusion that the room was taller and softened the sharp angles. A soft, washable coverlet was used to top the bed, soft grey velvet euro shams, along with a plaid euro which coordinates with the plaid bed scarf (trimmed in the soft grey velvet), 2 king ogee shaped shams (coordinating with the custom drapery panels), and a decorative pillow in the center pulled the bed from drab to fab! A soft wool area rug brings softness and warmth to the floor. Mirrored and weathered sand bachelor’s chests are generous in size and provide storage as well as lighting with a gold-leaf table lamp. A generous weathered sand dresser for guests to store their items was the perfect solution for the opposing wall. Two custom grey-taupe leather accent chairs with cream welting and silver nail heads are a welcome addition to the room. 18 botanical art were dispersed around the room in providing contrast to the walls, furniture and bedding, all while creating a clean, fresh look to the space. Custom window treatments coordinating with the king pillow shams on the bed gave shape to the arched window with shutters.
