Contemporary Lakeside Family Room

Project Overview:

When you first walk into this home, you can’t help but notice the beautiful windows and the lake view behind them. This showstopper needed a special treatment, but they didn’t want anything that would block their beautiful view. Additionally, this large open concept combination living room, kitchen, eating area, and foyer was empty and needed help to bring it all together cohesively. The homeowners had a few pieces of their own from their previous home, but little of it matched the scale needed for their new home. This couple has lots of colorful souvenirs from their travels and likes a clean look. They also have a large family that visits regularly so they wanted ample seating that was easy care and low maintenance, and preferred sectional.

This large lakehouse great room gives ample seating for family and friends in easy care performance fabrics and rough hewn black finishes for low maintenance and durability. This lets the beautiful window wall adorned with a custom faux iron treatment designed to mimic the tree line across the water really shine and take center stage. A beautiful fireplace is flanked by built in bookshelves with delicately arranged mementos from the home owners travels and has beautiful timbers on the ceiling, highlighting the architectural styling of the home. This large scaled living room utilizes a sectional with enough seating for 7, paired with two swivel chairs, and two hexagonal ottomans for additional seating. The arrangement is anchored by a large 60″x60″ coffee table that centers the room on the fireplace. The matching end tables flank the seating arrangement giving service to all of the seats. The adjacent rooms, the foyer and the dining room, continue the color scheme.
