Americana Breakfast Nook
After 30 years, this client wanted to refresh their breakfast area to feel lighter and brighter. They wanted to keep their furniture, but a few new additions the room became brighter and timeless: new custom window treatments, abstract oval rug, walls color SW 7036 Accessible Beige, and hardwood flooring.
For inspiration, we selected a fabric that featured navy, teal, gold, tan, and cream to become our focal point and source of color. In lieu of a pole, we placed the custom pole mounted pick up valance on medallions across the three walls of the bay window. We also contrasted the lining and the ribbon tabs at the top to feature a textured aqua and tan tweed. We continued this fabric for the re-upholstery of the barstools in the nearby kitchen. The walls, SW 7036 Accessible Beige, lighted the gold butter walls and really gave the existing furniture a new face. Anchoring the room is a new abstract rug featuring all of the colors in the window treatment in a custom cut oval to bring out the best features of the shape of the room and the table as well.
